I just learned how to send pictures directly from my cell phone to my blog. How awesome!!! These are the superheroes we made at our last RUF family group. Mine's the one at the bottom with the speech bubble - Super Mom.

Una Tortilla EspaƱola

Today I successfully made a Spanish tortilla! This was my favorite tapa while in Spain. It's nothing like the Mexican tortilla... The Spanish tortilla is actually a huge omelette, usually made with potatoes. It is THE classic Spanish tapa! I had been craving it since I got back to the US and finally got around to making one today :D.
People that know me, know that I'm not a very good cook... so making this tortilla was a huge accomplishment! You have to put a plate over the pan and flip the whole thing to cook the other side. It's tricky business, but I managed! I'm so proud of myself! :P.

Back in Providence...

I've been back in Providence now for almost a week and I am really missing Barcelona. I miss friends... I miss the food... I miss speaking Spanish! I especially miss the sunny weather... It's been raining here in Providence nonstop since I arrived :(. Well, actually, Sunday was a beautiful day... But then it got rainy again today and I've been stuck indoors! I am pretty much moved into my new place now, but for some reason I can't find my umbrella. I had grand plans to go run errands and go grocery shopping today, but I couldn't because it was pouring outside. So I tried to go buy an umbrella, but both CVS and 7-Eleven had sold out. I returned home in the end wet and umbrellas-less, and spent the day doing indoorsy things like laundry :p.

It has been so great seeing everyone again. Nothing has changed at all, which is nice, but a bit strange at the same time. It really feels like I stepped into a time machine, went to Spain for 3 months, and then returned only to find that no time had passed! I am also noticing some things that I didn't before... like how ginormous American meal portions are. Normally I can eat a lot (too much!) but I'm finding that I can't finish my food these days. It was the same when I came back to the US after a month in Mexico. I guess my stomach just needs some time to adjust. I miss my truita de patates and pa amb tomaquet!

Here are some pictures from my last days in Barca:

The lobby space in Elisava where they had different exhibitions put up every few weeks.

This was the one going on before I left... I believe it was for textile design.

Here are some pictures to show you my room in Barcelona. I'm not normally this messy!

My desk

Thank you everyone for your letters!

My wall

I left my projects up on the walls... hopefully the next person to inhabit the room will enjoy them :).

My closet/mirror. The "I'M NOT AN ARTIST" bags were given to us by Elisava on our first day of school (they were filled with orientation materials). Everyone's response was, "But I am an artist!!" :P.

My bedroom door from the inside

I finally went inside Gaudi's Casa Batllo!

The ceiling of one room, said to resemble a whirlpool...

This is a wall outside in the backyard.

Lots of mosaic

Natasha and my last meal together at Fishop! :)/:(

This is the turron man. You buy your turron (a Spanish almond candy) and bring it over here to pay. He sits in this little booth all day long! It has just enough space to fit EXACTLY one person.. hehe. He was very kind to let us take a picture with him :).

Guapas! Here we are in the subway... This was my last night in Barcelona after our Celula (bible study group). I got home around 11pm and started packing straight up until 3:30am. Then I headed to the airport and caught a 6am flight. It all happened so fast and before I knew it, I was back in Rhode Island...
